Super Duper Strawberry Tart
WoW.. I know I say this a lot, but you have to admit this looks awesome! This is aStrawberry Yogurt Mascarpone Tart and it is from Meetas blog What's For Lunch, Honey?
You will find the recipe as well as all the how to's. Just Fabulous.
I didn't know what a Mascarpone Tart was so good ole' Wikipedia came to my rescue. It's
"a triple-cream cheese made from crème fraîche, denatured with tartaric acid.[1] Sometimes buttermilk is added as well, depending on the brand. After denaturation, whey is removed without pressing or aging.[2] One can manufacture mascarpone by using cream, tartaric or citric acid, or even lemon juice.[3]
Mascarpone is milky-white in color and is easily spread. When fresh, it smells like milk and cream. It is used in various dishes of the Lombardy region of Italy, where it is a specialty. It is a main ingredient of tiramisu. It is sometimes used instead of butter or Parmesan cheese to thicken and enrich risotto."
Yum, can't wait to try it!

Strawberry Picking Bonanza

These two pictures are from the blog Heartland, "Bringing you the best of the Breadbasket". You'll have to visit Diana at her blog to read about all the yummy stuff she made with her 8 lbs of freshly picked strawberries. During the last week of strawberry season she headed to Berry Hill Farm in Wisconsin. Just to name a few there were "strawberry dumplings, strawberry mojitos, strawberry waffles, strawberry jelly/preserves, strawberry mint iced tea".Diana at Heartland lives in the Midwest of the US and their strawberry season is opposite of ours so reading about all the fun with the she had with the strawberries just makes me look forward to ours even more.
Be sure to check our Diana's blog, you'll be glad you did~
