Strawberry king and his Mochi
This is the Strawberry King from love.janine at her flickr photostream. This delicious treat is a Japanese Mochi (is a Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape. In Japan it is traditionally made in a ceremony called mochitsuki. While also eaten year-round, mochi is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year and is commonly sold and eaten during that time. Mochi is also a prominent snack in Hawaii and Taiwan.Wikipedia)

Let the Strawberry Eating Begin
First batch of Strawberries
Courtesy of the Berry Bay Farms in Wimauma, Fl
Lucky me scored half a flat (6 pints) of beautiful strawberries yesterday from our friends Michelle and Todd at the Berry Bay Farms. Todd is the farm manager and has been in the Agriculture Business for over 25 years and loves what he does. The website for the farm has all kinds of "strawberry growing" photo's and info. I didn't know that they grow onions on the outside row because it's not the favorite place to pick the strawberries (only working on one side). I'm still learning our different varieties of Florida Strawberries, (there are seven main varieties) and did you know that
"Each plant is picked every 3 to 4 days. It takes a strawberry approximately 14 to 21 days (depending on weather) to go from flower to red fruit" Visit the website to learn more fun facts.
Today when I got home from work I played in the kitchen making Strawberry Bread Pudding,
Strawberry Bread and Angel Food Cake for Strawberry Shortcake with Hard Whipped Cream. Yum!

Fruit Mousse
I'm not even sure what this is, but I think it is so pretty. The translation is something about Fruit Mousse, From Joan Brune's who lives in Vilanova del Valle's, Catalunya which is in Spain, north of Barcelona. I was having a bit of hard time with the google translator but Joan Brue's is a dessert/pastry chef and has a website that is absolutely Delicious.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
I found this at the Facebook Strawberry Fan Club. Don't they look Delicious!
I found a couple of recipes at the food networks website. You pretty much just need semisweet chocolate and white chocolate and strawberries..
This one by "bluejeanmomma" Gourmet Chocolate Decadence at Squiddo. Blue Jean Momma even give you tips, like using a plastic ziploc to dribble the white chocolate.
and some fancy swirls..
Then check out this Pie
